Hello everyone.
Today's post is about giving my T-REV a full overhaul.
For the T-REV, the maker recommends
- a check and clean every year or 10,000 km
- a full overhaul every 2 years or 20,000 km.
What I learnt from this maintenance (overhaul) was:
Overhaul it as often as the maker recommends!
For the disassembly, see the article below.

The overhaul kit has arrived!

These are the parts in the overhaul kit.

Let's start fitting the new parts to the T-REV.
First, put the rubber gasket in place.

On top of the rubber gasket, put the thicker metal plate that holds it down.

Next, put on the 0.07 mm metal plate (the reed), the key part of the T-REV.

Fit the plate that (I think) stops the 0.07 mm reed from bending back, and fix it with the screw.

That's one of the three done.
And then it suddenly struck me!

The photo above was taken when I took it apart (before the overhaul).
The 0.07 mm reed is not sitting flat; it is lifting!
Like this, I don't think the T-REV was working as well as it should.
Feeling that you really should follow the maker's recommendations, I fitted the other two.

Next, replace the O-ring.
Apply a thin coat of silicone grease.

Fit the new O-ring.

Once the O-ring is done, screw it into the body held in the vice.

Fit the valve section too.
Even in this photo you can see that the thin reeds are sitting flat.

Overhaul finished!

Refit it as before, and the whole job is done!
After the overhaul, the vibration and engine braking went back to how they felt when I first fitted the T-REV.
